HOW DOES IT WORK?

01

Inspire

We select projects that were born from the heart, by local owners whom we admire, on a mission to make a lasting impact.

02

Fund

For each retreat and ceremony, Oyasin donates an amount to the Oyasin Foundation. Moreover, our community members donate to our projects directly.

03

Serve

We offer the possibility to our community members to serve:

to visit and volunteer at the projects.

Project 1
Ocean Gardeners
Indonesia

The latest project that we support with the Oyasin Foundation is Ocean Gardener

At Oyasin we deeply honour the element of water. Water is the source of all life.

Freediving and being so close to marine life evokes not only a strong connection with the ocean, but also a strong desire to protect her.

While still in Mexico, during a water ceremony I asked the goddess of the water ‘what do you need?’

She answered ‘𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦'.

This experience stayed with me ever since. How can we serve her in that mission?

In Bali I met Ocean Gardener an organization that does amazing work in coral restoration.

I was invited to visit some of their underwater nurseries. Seeing them at work, they are literally gardening the ocean, and in some places they've re-created coral reefs of over a kilometer.

Coral reefs are some of the most diverse and valuable ecosystems on earth. Also called the ‘rainforests of the ocean’ they cover only 1% of the world’s oceans, but provide a home for at least 25% of the world’s marine life. They are threatened because of rising ocean temperatures and carbon dioxide levels.

Project 2
Gallería Nd'ia Xí 'nde
Mexico

The latest project that we support with Oyasin Foundation is 'Gallería Nd'ia Xí'nde' or 'Casa Adobe'.

Nd'ia Xí'nde is a gallery that exhibits art inspired by the sacred plants.

The featured artworks are made by two talented brothers named René and Ascensión Alvaro Martinez.

We fell in love with this project that teaches children to express themselves through art and to connect to and remember the essence of their culture.

The Mexican Mazateco culture is the global heart of the mushrooms - the niños santos ('sacred children').

More than medicine, from what we've experienced their culture is incredibly inclusive, with respect for other humans as much as for nature. It's harmonious. The fact that people easily live beyond 100 years is testimony to this.

We enjoyed making art with the children very much, and we are honoured to be able to support this cause.
